An excursion into the undisputed realm of beech, through one of the most beautiful beech woods of Nebrodi, the “Mangalaviti Wood” with majestic and very old trees. The route starts from Mangalaviti Houses (1250 m), from where the paved road gives way to the dirty road, immediately surrounded by dense beech forest. We continue for a few km uphill (up to 1400 m) and then in light and steady descent to the “Biviere” through meadows, forests of beech and nice views. The Cesarò Lake (1280 m above sea level) is the high altitude wetland of most natural value in Sicily. In addition to the beautiful surrounding woods, it has a rich aquatic vegetation and also serves as a reference point for many species of waterfowl, both migratory and permanent birds. Everything is included in a landscape of very great value, to 360 degrees, from the Tyrrhenian coast to Mt. Soro and to the summit of Etna Volcano.
